ABOUT SASH FILMS
Sash Films was born from an agreement between actor/producers Suzanne Procter and Greg Ashton that if they ever moved into film, they would always strive for a best practice of collaboration both on and off set.
The award winning short, Clutter, their first film, has already been selected for over twenty festivals worldwide including several Oscar and BAFTA Qualifying festivals. Their initial focus was on telling LGBTQ+ stories, but having connected with many other filmmakers on the independent film festival circuit, they have been inspired to broaden their scope. Work in development includes The Flag, a short drama about a lesbian couple of colour who move next door to a less than welcoming neighbor, an animated short documentary that looks at the power of song when caring for dementia patients, and The Donor Diva, a documentary about a drag queen and their journey as a sperm donor.
Previous producing experience includes several theatre fringe productions as Ripley Theatre. With Ripley they garnered three Edinburgh Fringe First nominations (Diary of a Welshcake, Eggplant and Little Red), two Lost Theatre awards (Madam Butterfly's Child and Mad Margaret's Revenge) and two Off West End Offie Nominations for The Diva Drag (featuring Louise Jameson). They have toured all across the UK, from the South of England to the Highlands of Scotland, as well as heading as far afield as Hong Kong, Singapore and Australia.
Separately, Suzanne also co-produces for 368 Theatre Company. They have produced several plays at the Brighton Fringe including Love's The Thing, Cruising, Honeymoon from Hell and In Conversation with an Acid Bath Murderer which went on to win the Argus Angel Award for Artistic Excellence and completed a UK tour.
Greg has produced several audio musical dramas for family listening, featuring Sharon D. Clarke, Mark Bonnar, Colin Salmon, Tony Maudsley, Louise Jameson and a host of West End stars from the world of Musical Theatre.
